“Some parts of life you just can’t capture when you’re taking your own photos. For us right now, these things fill our days – The cheeky face when Jarrah points at you, inviting you to point back and touch fingers. The giggle when you respond. Playing ‘where’s Jarrah?” It always fills my heart the look Jarrah gives, that look of recognition and love when I walk into the room, or caravan, or he spots Mitch walking towards him. When we ask him ‘where’s Indi?’ and he searches for her. The big sloppy open mouth that leans in when you ask for a kiss. The big belly laugh when he thinks you’re funny. His love for birds and dogs. He pretty much calls everything a dog. The beautiful kisses and cuddles Indi and Jarrah share, such moments of sibling love. When you turn around and can’t see Jarrah because Indi is on top of him. For Indigo, I can’t go past the squeal of of utter excitement at blueberries, a mandarin, chocolate, a bath, the mention of Peppa Pig, when her favourite Wiggles song comes on, most of all when we ask if she’d like a baby-chino! Right now it’s all about the hair, “two pony tails today” and if she spots her tutu throughout the day it just has to be worn. Or any clothes or hats she finds, she comes up with some of the most eclectic outfits ever. Her impromptu dancing like Emma, to ‘lovely’ songs. Indi’s quirky use of language and the laughs that follow. Indi loves helping make the dinner, at the moment her job is peeling the garlic. Lastly, I could go on though, the super rare quiet cuppa if both kids are asleep. Even just writing this is a lovely way to remember, thanks Cascade Lane Photography”
This comment, along with a few others that Linda wrote, won this gorgeous family a free ‘Day in the Life’ three-hour session when I held a giveaway a little while ago. I love that they appreciate ALL the moments and want to capture real life, rather than just what they look like when they sit together in a beautiful field at sunset and try to get the kids to smile for the camera. This was their last night in the caravan after travelling around Australia for a few months and it’s so great to be able to give them this gallery as a reminder of what life was like at this stage!
I have also taken photos for both Mitch and Linda’s businesses before – check out Linda’s photos at Mountain Dreads! 🙂
